I can't believe they got rid of the cat in the logo. They've taken everything iconic about the brand and nuked it. It's all so very bizarre.

On the nose, Liz, usual. And the sweatpants reference is something I totally agree with: Hate seeing sweatpants and pajamas whilst carrying on non-sleep and non-athletic public pursuits.

First time i saw that ad was when a commentator aired it as the car company’s “Bud Lite” moment.

And, joy of joy, many companies here in the states are now sharing their suspension of DEI policies. Here’s to the meritocracy!

It feels so surreal watching the madness of the last four years come unraveled. It’s euphoric. Boy, we have seen some dark days—especially the riots of 2020 and (here in Toronto at least) the peak of vaccine passports in November 2021.

DEI abandonment is such a welcome relief. Much slower here in Canada but the tide has definitely turned.

So well said, Liz. Yes indeed, one would think Jaguar would have learned not to "go woke" from the Mulvaney Bud Lite fiasco and other such boondoggles. But no, the one thing that can be counted on by the woke crowd is irrationality when it comes to understanding economics and life. Unfortunately, the CEOS and the boards of those corporations apparently lack sufficient critical thinking skills to realize that it's not a good business practice to succumb to "wokeism," i.e., the "tyranny of the minority." I've heard, though, that BlackRock/Vanguard have managed to buy the majority of the stock in such corporations (that have gone woke) and as such have coerced them into going woke under threat of withdrawing their stock in those companies, but I don't know how true that is. WHY BlackRock/Vanguard would want the stats of those companies to crash is up for speculation. (In any case, I seriously doubt that any of the involved corporations and BlackRock couldn't know that going woke would crash their revenue stream.) I suppose one possibility could be that Blackrock, et al., are themselves controlled by (unseen) unspeakably wealthy globalist entities above them and are merely doing what they're told to do?

‘Irrationality’ really is their thing. They prefer feelings over logic. I continue to wonder if they’re born this way. Perhaps once upon a time it served a purpose evolution-wise.

Yes, BlackRock and Vanguard have a lot to answer for. I think it was less punishment and more reward (carrot over stick?). Companies were rewarded and invested in for adopting DEI and other woke policies. I may be an incurable optimist but I think a lot of that is winding down.

The singular, sinister forces you speak of… yes, there are those too. Soros, among even shadier characters. They will push it as far as they can.

I smell narcissism. Exuberant modernism obviously speaks to the sensibilities of whoever designed and/or supported this ad campaign. It appears to have nothing to do with selling cars but, more, pitching a lifestyle. What THE ... ?????

The weirdest part is who buys Jags? Not young people. Not Trans. They’re expensive. They are bought by 50+ year olds.

That ad was the weirdest ad I have ever seen. I had to Google what Jaguar was as I didn’t believe a car company could be that stupid.

However….it brought a lot of eyeballs and talk with it. If they were trolling us they did a good job.
